Locum Consultant in Obstetric & Fetal Medicine

Detailed job description and main responsibilities Responsibilities WHAT YOU’LL DO: The role is intended to support leadership in all aspects of patient care, safety, and clinical governance. You will support the resident and non-resident consultant obstetrician on call rota and provide consultant presence on the labour ward, for outpatient and inpatient antenatal care and elective Caesarean sections. You will be expected to deliver clinical excellence within Obstetrics and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. You will contribute to regional multidisciplinary education and training initiatives. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR We are keen to hear from ambitious individuals who have completed obstetric training and potentially additionally sub-specialty training in maternal and fetal medicine, including experience in complex antenatal and intrapartum care. You should have high level skills in managing complex pregnancies.  A willingness to learn and work within a constantly changing environment is necessary together with the ability to remain calm under pressure. The ability to actively support and engage with ongoing research themes and projects in line with the expectations of a vibrant academic hospital and to support the subspecialty trainees in achieving research requirements. Experience in leading service change and the training of medical and non-medical staff is also desirable.
