The daytime and out of hours congenital surgical on-call duties are shared by all consultants. This involves the surgical management of emergency referrals, PICU, NICU, CICU and providing cardiac surgical input as required on these units. The surgical fellow appointee will be expected to participate in these activities, work with junior colleagues from the surgical rota, and provide some out-of-hours supervised cover, subject to job plan and expertise.
